This has been a long time coming. Over the years my kids and wife have create me a pile of items from family photos, to glow in the dark jigsaw puzzles that all must be framed. I’ve attempted the standard picture frame on many a cold night but never had any great success. Well, this past week I finally sat down a designed a fixture that would help me accomplish my goals and low and behold it worked.

The first frame went to my youngest son who has been pestering me for this frame now for months. I was very please with how the frame went together, though there are some tweaks that need to be made, and the smile it put on his face. The frame is made of 1-1/2″X7/8″ Red Oak and oiled with my favorite finish, Tried & True Varnish Oil. The ‘glass’ is actually a piece of Lexan, a nearly indestructible clear polycarbonate, perfect for a bedroom. All in all it was a success.
